Our project requirement of hot water is limited to the winter months. Can the hot water demand be met through the use of electricity generated by the Solar Photo Voltaic system on site, instead of installing solar hot water systems?
Solution
Under GRIHA v3 Criterion 19, compliance can be met by offsetting the energy required for heating water through Solar Photo Voltaics. However, please note that there should be no overlapping/double counting in Criterion 18 and Criterion 19. The Solar Photovoltaic must be sized to meet the requirement individually.
