In an unconditioned hostel building, only the guest rooms are conditioned. Should these hostel blocks and guest rooms be considered as naturally ventilated or air-conditioned?

My project comprises of a hostel block and academic block. The hostel rooms and guest rooms are not air-conditioned. But as per criterion 14 (GRIHA Version 3), GRIHA, the bedrooms and living rooms in residential buildings are to be considered as air-conditioned spaces for energy simulation. Should these hostel blocks and guest rooms be considered as naturally ventilated or air-conditioned?

Solution

Please consider hostel blocks as non-air-conditioned and Guest Rooms as air-conditioned.
