(#8221) Organic waste calculation for a hotel project.


The project team intends to calculate the quantity of organic waste generated for the entire hotel project (including rooms, restaurants & banquet) considering 1.1 kg/room/day based on the Table 1: Waste generation norms for different types of facilities under Criterion 25 in the GRIHA v 3.1 manual. Kindly guide whether the intended calculation methodology is appropriate.


The value considered for the room area in the query is correct. However, for other commercial/community areas please consider 0.038 kg/sqm/day for the quantification of waste.
