(#829) Tree manual

Query

Our project lies in the northern plain alluvium derived semi-arid region. Project team has proposed deciduous trees like- Tecomella undulata, Bauhinia racemosa, Phanera purpurea etc. in order to get sunlight during winters. However, these trees are not mentioned in the list that is provided in GRIHA v3 detailed manual (Volume2). Kindly clarify whether a tree that is non-native but requires lesser amount of water as compared to a native tree, is acceptable as per GRIHA compliance.

Response

Please refer to tree manual for detailed listing of native trees as per various locations.

OR
Please provide reference indicating that the proposed trees are native/require less water.
