How is the embodied energy of the materials calculated if the materials are manufactured locally or bought from the local vendors?
Solution
The calculation is done based on the quantity of the material used and the embodied energy numbers either provided in the GRIHA V2 Manual (Volume 4) or derived from peer reviewed journals or conferences papers. GRIHA requires quantification of embodied energy unless stones excavated on-site or adobe bricks prepared on-site are used. Kindly refer the GRIHA manual for calculation methodology.
