Query
A new block is being added to an existing project. There is an existing lawn and a road adjacent to the proposed block. According to criterion 05 (GRIHA Version 3), net paved area should not exceed 25% of the site area. So how would be the site area calculated in this case?
Solution
A virtual site boundary needs to be created for the proposed project including the existing supporting services which will serve the proposed project. So, if the existing access road is providing access to the proposed block, part of it should be included in the virtual site boundary. A project specific discussion with GRIHA Council is usually done in unique cases to ensure proper course of action.
