Query

A project has plans for off-loading the top soil to a nursery due to space constraints. Is this method allowed? If yes, then what is the expected documentation for Criterion 03 (GRIHA Version 3)?

Solution

The point can only be achieved if the top-soil extracted from the project site is later reapplied/ reused on the project site for landscaping purpose. The project proponent needs to store only the quantity that will be required for later re-application. Further, the top soil can be stored off-site but it must be documented properly (photographs with date stamp) and the area where it is stored must be shown during GRIHA 'Due Diligence visit'. Further, the project team must submit the copy of receipt of soil from the nursery.
